Sainsbury's Issue Urgent Recall On Burgers Following E.Coli Reports

  • Written by Editor

Sainsburys have issued an urgent product recall on their Taste the Difference 4 pack Aberdeen Angus British Beef Quarter Pounders due to a link with the illness E.coli O157.

The move comes after a number of customers have become unwell with E.coli O157 after consuming the product.

Symptoms caused by this organism include diarrhoea, abdominal pain, bloody diarrhoea, and haemolytic uremic syndrome, a serious condition that can lead to kidney failure and can be fatal.

Public Health England has identified a small number of cases with E. coli O157 infection. Investigations have found a possible link to the above product. As a precautionary measure, Sainsbury’s is recalling certain batches of its Taste the Difference 4 pack Aberdeen Angus British Beef Quarter Pounders (Frozen)
