"Let's Build an Orchestra!

Our new Head of Music, Mr Simon Lawrenson, is keen to expand our orchestral music at Romsey School. In order to do this we are seeking to find instruments for the students to learn and take part. If you have or know of any spare instruments that could be either donated or sold (for a reasonable price) we would love to hear from you.

Don't worry if they are a bit old or need servicing we can arrange that if needs be. The instruments we require are:

Saxophone (especially Tenor)

French Horn (we have one long term loan already but another would be wonderful!)

Trombone (especially Bass)

Other instruments are not usually found hoarded in the back of a loft, but you might be aware of how we could acquire:

A pair of timpani

A 14" concert cymbal

32 note orchestral glockenspiel

Orchestral xylophone

Concert Bass drum (one of the bigger ones, think 1812 overture)

Concert drum kit in good condition

Any thoughts welcome and/or donations to collecting these instruments. Please contact me directly at the school on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Many thanks for looking and asking around.
