A worried resident recently contacted Romsey and Villages to raise his concerns regarding waste collection.
We really need something done by the council re waste bins.
Paper and recycling plus garden waste once a fortnight is fine (not ideal) but the general waste one needs to be weekly when temperatures are like they've been.
This would then remove the maggot problem.
Longer term, they really need to rethink two weekly collections of general food waste as it's encouraging rats and foxes, at a time when pest control services are virtually non existent or very expensive.
In fact if it's bin related the council shouldn't even charge for the pest control service as it's effectively their fault!
We can't afford to wait until vermin attack or bite children or attack animals. It's a disaster waiting to occur. That or a 21st century version of the plague is perhaps what our councillors need to wake them up.
Romsey & Villages approached TVBC for comment but have yet to hear anything.
