The RSPCA have launched an investigation following the discovery of a dead dog in the New Forest near Dibden Purlieu.
A tree surgeon working in the forest made the gruesome find. The dog, a male Staffordshire Bull Terrier, had been gagged with gaffa tape and his legs were bound with cable ties, he had been wrapped up in a duvet and dumped in a zipped up bag.
RSCPA inspector Penny Baker said: "He was found in a large, brand new zipped-up rucksack.
"He was in normal bodily condition with some scabbing around his groin area and bruising inside his mouth but it is not clear how he died.
"Anyone with any information which could help our investigation should contact the RSPCA appeal line on 0300 123 8018."
