Local News | Staying Steady and Ageing Well In Braishfield |Romsey & VillagesBy being active, we increase our chances of keeping mobile, healthy and being able to carry on doing the things we enjoy. Exercise is one of the most important factors in staying independent and the Hampshire ‘Steady & Strong’ community exercise programme is designed to help people regain strength and balance.

The classes are aimed at anyone over 55 in Hampshire and are taught by instructors who have been specifically trained to deliver exercise that helps to improve and maintain balance, strength and mobility. People attend classes for a wide variety of reasons and age in the classes ranges from 55 up to 100 as it is never too late to start exercising and seeing the benefits!

A class is held at Braishfield Village Hall, near Romsey, on Tuesdays 1:15pm – 2:15pm and run by experienced instructor Jenny Pawson. The class is fun and friendly, with a mixture of men and women of different ages. For information on this class or to book your free taster session contact Jenny Pawson on 07845 530855

Please note: People recovering from illness or operation or who have had a recent fall, will need to inform their GP and may be eligible for a free 12 week courses led by NHS instructors. Contact your GP, nurse or therapist for information.
