Join the congregation for the Christmas Carol Service at the newly-refurbished St Swithun’s Church in Romsey this Sunday, December 18.
The parish has spent more than £10,000 redecorating the church, at Crampmoor, with new waterproof paint for the walls, organ repairs and a re-sanded and polished floor.
St Swithun’s Church – part of the Romsey Abbey family - welcomes around 40 people every week for worship in a building which used to be a school.
The Rev Canon Tim Sledge said: “The church has had a constant problem with damp in the walls – now we have a breathable paint which makes the whole place look smart and welcoming.
“St Swithun’s is a really important part of the local community and the church has done a huge amount of fundraising and helped give it a makeover, repair the organ, and get the whole place ready again in time for their carol service this Sunday at 3pm.”
